Chia-Ming Chang is an interaction designer and HCI researcher with interdisciplinary experiences from multiple countries . Currently, he is an assistant professor in the Dept. of Visual Communication Design at National Taiwan University of Arts (2024-present).

Before returning to Taiwan, he was an assistant professor (project lecturer) in the Dept. of Creative Informatics at UTokyo (2020-2024), where he received the ACT-X, a grant award for young researchers in Japan. In 2021, he was selected as an AIP Challenge Researcher. Chia-Ming was also an assistant professor in the Dept. of Communication and Technology at NYCU (2018-20), where he received the MOST Special Outstanding Talent Award (科技部延攬特殊優秀人才). Additionally, he was a post-doc researcher at UTokyo (Igarashi Lab) (2016-18) and a visiting researcher at Aalto Media Lab (2015-16). He obtained his PhD (scholarship awarded) in Interaction Design from Nottingham Trent University and MA in Interactive Media from University of the Arts London.
His research interest encompass interaction design (UI & UX), where he explores novel UI and UX for AI (e.g., autonomous cars & data annotation) from a design perspective.
