Chia-Ming Chang is an interaction designer and HCI researcher with interdisciplinary experiences from multiple countries . Currently, he is a project lecturer (eq. assistant professor in North America system) in the Dept. of Creative Informatics (Igarashi Lab) at The University of Tokyo (2020-now), while he is receiving the ACT-X, a grant award for young researchers in Japan (2021-24).

Chia-Ming was an assistant professor at NCTU, Taiwan (2018-20), where he received the MOST Special Outstanding Talent Award, a post-doc researcher at UTokyo (Igarashi Lab) (2016-18), and a visiting researcher at Aalto Media Lab (2015-16). He obtained his PhD (scholarship awarded) in Interaction Design from Nottingham Trent University, an MA in Interactive Media from University of the Arts London, and a BA in Visual Communication Design from National Taiwan University of Arts.
His research interest encompass interaction design (UI & UX), where he explores novel UI and UX for AI (e.g., autonomous cars & data annotation) from a design perspective.
